We’re up to week 2 of Cyber Security Awareness Month, and this week’s theme is is your email secure?
We’ve written about this in the past, making a case for why email security is important, and it’s definitely something worth revisiting.
Email is being targeted regularly by hackers, as this is often the easiest way to gain access to any personal or financial information they want. This is especially true of emails going to and from businesses.
How to check your email account security (Outlook & Gmail)
These include account recovery and password changes, setting up MFA, checking mail settings and third party application access and accessing login information.
What to do if someone has hacked your email account
If your personal or business email accounts have been targeted, the ACSC have put together a quick guide to help you with your next steps, and how to protect yourself from future attacks.
